2021 Dirty Dozen & Clean Fifteen Lists
Every year, the Environmental Working Group (EWG) releases the “Dirty Dozen” and “Clean Fifteen” lists based on pesticide levels found in the produce tested, giving you insight as to which fruits and vegetables should be purchased organically and which are alright being bought conventionally. The lists are as follows:
Dirty Dozen
Strawberries
Spinach
Kale
Nectarines
Apples
Grapes
Cherries
Peaches
Pears
Bell/Hot Peppers
Celery
Tomatoes
Clean Fifteen
Avocado
Sweet Corn
Pineapple
Onions
Papaya
Sweet Peas
Eggplant
Asparagus
Broccoli
Cabbage
Kiwi
Cauliflower
Mushrooms
Honeydew Melon
Cantaloupe
Whether organic or conventionally grown, fruits and vegetables are critical components of a healthy diet, but if you are concerned about your pesticide intake, consider purchasing organically grown versions of the foods on EWG’s Dirty Dozen, or conventional produce from the Clean Fifteen.
